Readability before decoration
A visually pleasing palette still needs readable text. Compare normal text, labels, and small interface controls against their backgrounds.
Contrast is one part
Keyboard access, focus indicators, text size, meaningful labels, and layout also affect usability. A passing ratio does not cover those checks.
Try real content
Use realistic headings and paragraphs when testing a palette. Short placeholder text can hide wrapping and spacing problems.
